HC Nutrition

I was so excited to go to HC Nutrition and learn what it was all about. I started seeing their Grand Re-Opening event on Facebook and that really peaked my interest. I was able to meet with the Jennifer, owner, and she had so much information to share. I was so excited to hear she is a RN and really able to speak to the different medical aspects of the benefits she has to offer. I had no idea how much was available at HC Nutrition.

Cryotherapy is something I had been wanting to try since I saw in on the Real Housewives, yes you read that right, I am obsessed with reality TV. I have looked into it further and there are just so many benefits. I loved it and can’t wait to do it again. I could feel the benefits in my muscles the rest of the day and into the next. Yoga House Boerne

I was so excited to try out Yoga House Boerne, I have seen Rachel on social media and she looked so fun and inspiring. I checked out her website, which is very user friendly and easy to sign up for classes. I did her gentle yoga and yoga flow. Even though I workout so many different places I always get a little nervous going to a new place for the first time. Rachel was so welcoming and personable. She was easy to speak with and individually welcomed each person into the class.

Her gentle yoga class was very calming and a slower pace so you can really melt into each pose and expand your muscles deeper through your breath. This is a great class for beginners to gain experience and also good for experienced yogis to slow down and really embrace each pose.

The yoga flow class was a higher pace with a mixture of advanced poses and modifications to build up your practice. She really focused on each persons form to ensure your body is in proper alignment for the best results and safety. I really enjoyed that she walked around and checked each person in the room assisting when necessary. It can be very hard during yoga to know if you are in the right position and you can’t always see the instructor. Having that additional help and then feeling the change when you get to the right place really pushes you to progress in your practice.

She offers classes 6 days a week at convenient times to accommodate work schedules. The studio is conveniently located at I10 near Fair Oaks Ranch, just behind the gas station. It is located in the basement of her home, how convenient for her right! It is set up so nicely and allows for great class size to allow the attention each student needs.

January I have been doing all morning workouts and it has been great. I plan to keep this schedule up. I do spinning, barre, yoga and strength training. This allows me more time after work for spending time doing other things or use my home gym in the afternoons.

Spinning is something I started doing in October when I first visited B Well Health & Fitness, here in Boerne, it always leaves me sweaty and feeling great. Each class is different and challenging. Barre is a great class that really isolates muscles that can change your shape. Every time I feel like I find a new muscle that leaves me shaking. I love it, if you haven’t tried a Barre work out you really need to. It is low impact and a great class to start your fitness journey.

Yoga is one of my favorite things that allows me to focus on my breath and really stretching my muscles. I am always surprised at the poses and balance I have. I am really trying to get some more advanced poses under my belt, so here’s to practice.

Strength and weights are something that is a push for me. I don’t have the most upper body strength so using the weights to really push my arms, shoulders and back. I can really see a difference in my shoulders and arms when I look in the mirror so hopefully with consistency the changes will continue.

B Well Boerne

This past week I burned more calories than I can count! I was trying out a fitness studio I hadn’t been to before. I had seen them on social media and heard people talk about them in town but hadn’t made it there personally, I did 10 classes and 2 sauna secession’s. I am happy to report that through all of my exhaustion I loved every minute of it! B Well Health & Fitness is located on main street next to The Texas Meat Company. They offer a variety of fitness class including Barre, Pilates, Spin, HIIT, Kickboxing, Yoga, TRX, Hot Yoga, Piyo, Prenatal Yoga, Personal Training and more! The variety is great for everyone looking for a place to join for fitness. Bonus, child care is available for all of the moms looking for somewhere to go but have some little ones. Student’s and Teacher’s also need to check them out for some amazing special pricing.

 

 

 

 

I wanted to try as many different classes as possible but I was most excited about spinning. I have been wanting to try a spin class for years but couldn’t find a place near by with all of my moves. I arrived for my first class and was a little nervous about it but the instructor made me feel so comfortable, she happened to be the owner as well. The other wonderful ladies in the class were so welcoming and gave me some great tips even helping to set up my bike. After going over some mountains and through some mud I made it through and was officially addicted. I took 3 additional spinning class and got to experience two other instructors as well who challenged me in different ways. If you are looking for a great local spinning class you have to try it out.

 

 

Barre, Pilates and Yoga are things I love and have enjoyed for years. The classes I participated in were wonderful. Again so much variety and the different instructors bring their own flare that will challenge your body in different ways. This is perfect because your body will get used to the same thing or routine and mixing it up allows you to always be forcing change and see progress in your body and stamina.

 

 

Lets not forget the Infrared Sauna that is available for 45 minute secessions as well. I enjoyed my secessions so much. It was a great relaxing experience to just take a moment for myself and allow my muscles to rest and detox. The benefits of the sauna are many including detox, relaxation, circulation, skin purification, weight loss and pain relief/management. I experience neck pain, mostly because that is where I hold my stress, and my sauna time really helped to relieve this.

My favorite part was the way I was welcomed by the instructors and other members of the studio. Each person was so nice and helpful. Having a place you feel comfortable is key, if you are going to commit your time to fitness you want to go somewhere you feel welcome. This also gives you a place you can push yourself and meet your personal goals.

Aerial Yoga Boerne

I am so excited to tell you about my first aerial yoga experience here in Boerne! I have seen and heard about this studio and been dying to try it out since I moved to Boerne. I finally attended my first class at Aerial Yoga Boerne. The studio is located just off I-10 in Boerne near John’s Rd. It is a great studio! Extremely clean, modern and the staff are wonderful.

It was a small class and the instructor was also the owner. My friend and I had never done it before and she was awesome, she explained everything to us from what to do but also about the steel beams and fabric holding us up. Each hammock can hold up to 2000 pounds, so you are safe! I loved every minute of the class. I love yoga and this really gives you a different range of motion and muscle use. The resistance is different and makes some poses harder while others are easier. There are many variations of poses for all levels so don’t be afraid to try.

I can’t wait to go back! Who wants to go? I just did the drop in class and it was $16.00. If you go invite me along! They offer many different yoga classes, retreats and membership packages. Check them out and push yourself.
