Mixing It Up

Getting back into a consistent workout routine has been wonderful, even it I really didn’t take any time off. The stress relief, sweat and over all feeling after a great workout really makes me feel amazing as part of my over all mental health.

I have been doing virtual spin classes, TRX, weights, cardio and yoga. I really like to mix things up and not do the same thing everyday. It is also better for your body to keep it guessing and keep the changes coming. Your body will get used to the same thing over and over; making the results much less apparent if at all. This is where a lot of people plateau, get discouraged and quit.

DON’T QUIT, try something new. Is there a class you have always wanted to try? Do it. If your gym doesn’t have classes or you workout at home use the internet. Google free workout videos, search for different combos online there are so many things to choose from. You can try one of the combos under the Home Workouts section of my blog. If you normally hike or run try mixing in some weight training. Cardio is great but you need to build that muscle to keep changing and burning.

Whatever it is don’t be afraid to try something new. You never know what you will fall in love with or really give you a great workout.

Weekly Workout

So this week has been tough for me workout wise. I felt exhausted at all times and couldn’t do as much weight as I normally do in my spin classes. I focused on not letting it discourage me and kept going to class anyway. Sometimes this will be more difficult and other times you will breeze through like it’s nothing. This week was just tough.

I continued with morning workouts of Spin and Barre this week with some Sauna time as well. This week the sauna was the best time for me. I really needed some detox and time to meditate. For me this is a great place to meditate because I am alone in a box basically with no way out. lol I get to think a lot about the week, goals and changes I want to make. It is a time to reflect on previous weeks and moments. I think it is vital to take time to yourself and really focus on your goals.

B Well Boerne

This past week I burned more calories than I can count! I was trying out a fitness studio I hadn’t been to before. I had seen them on social media and heard people talk about them in town but hadn’t made it there personally, I did 10 classes and 2 sauna secession’s. I am happy to report that through all of my exhaustion I loved every minute of it! B Well Health & Fitness is located on main street next to The Texas Meat Company. They offer a variety of fitness class including Barre, Pilates, Spin, HIIT, Kickboxing, Yoga, TRX, Hot Yoga, Piyo, Prenatal Yoga, Personal Training and more! The variety is great for everyone looking for a place to join for fitness. Bonus, child care is available for all of the moms looking for somewhere to go but have some little ones. Student’s and Teacher’s also need to check them out for some amazing special pricing.

 

 

 

 

I wanted to try as many different classes as possible but I was most excited about spinning. I have been wanting to try a spin class for years but couldn’t find a place near by with all of my moves. I arrived for my first class and was a little nervous about it but the instructor made me feel so comfortable, she happened to be the owner as well. The other wonderful ladies in the class were so welcoming and gave me some great tips even helping to set up my bike. After going over some mountains and through some mud I made it through and was officially addicted. I took 3 additional spinning class and got to experience two other instructors as well who challenged me in different ways. If you are looking for a great local spinning class you have to try it out.

 

 

Barre, Pilates and Yoga are things I love and have enjoyed for years. The classes I participated in were wonderful. Again so much variety and the different instructors bring their own flare that will challenge your body in different ways. This is perfect because your body will get used to the same thing or routine and mixing it up allows you to always be forcing change and see progress in your body and stamina.

 

 

Lets not forget the Infrared Sauna that is available for 45 minute secessions as well. I enjoyed my secessions so much. It was a great relaxing experience to just take a moment for myself and allow my muscles to rest and detox. The benefits of the sauna are many including detox, relaxation, circulation, skin purification, weight loss and pain relief/management. I experience neck pain, mostly because that is where I hold my stress, and my sauna time really helped to relieve this.

My favorite part was the way I was welcomed by the instructors and other members of the studio. Each person was so nice and helpful. Having a place you feel comfortable is key, if you are going to commit your time to fitness you want to go somewhere you feel welcome. This also gives you a place you can push yourself and meet your personal goals.
