Since moving to McKinney my morning routine has changed in many ways. I no longer have to commute into an office for work, I work remote in my home office, so it has allowed for some changes.
I cannot get up without 8 legs running in front of me down the stairs so that is actually the first thing I do, let the dogs out and feed them, after all they are more important than anyone else in the house. Once I feed them I make my one cup of coffee for the day, ugh only one cup I know but I am trying to cut back my caffeine intake. I get asked a lot too but I drink my coffee black or with a splash of almond milk. (Most of the sugar and unnecessary calories are in the creamer/sugar so cut it out)
After my cup of coffee I go back upstairs and brush my teeth to try my best to keep that coffee color off my teeth. I also wash my face and put on my collagen cream & vitamin c oil. Then it’s back to the kitchen for an 8oz glass of green juice and vitamins. I do not have a juicer so I get pre made juices, I have tried many different brands and I just make sure that the ingredients are all fruits & vegetables, no concentrates or fake stuff. As I am drinking my green juice I am working in my office and getting a plan set out for the day with my to do list.
I normally have a smoothie, cereal, yogurt or bar for breakfast. My breakfast is usually a smaller mean because the juice really does fill me up for awhile. After the juice it’s water water water for the rest of the day.
This is my morning routine and I love it. I love it because my body knows what to expect and keeping a routine has really changed my skin, hair, nails and digestion. It keeps everything smooth and regular, my skin has never looked better. A routine is not only great for physical health but also mental health. It keeps me moving and my body going.
I asked other people what the 3 must dos are for them every morning and I loved the responses here were some of them
- Wash face
- Check the weather
- Drink water
- Watch the news
- Drink a shake
- Feed pets
Its kinda of fun to see that so many people have similar routines or needs in the morning. It also makes me see even more how our bodies all need similar things nutrition and love being important in the morning. Share with us what your morning routing is.
Here are some of the easy foods I have been enjoying
Smoothies! I like to add Cinnamon & Honey – you can read about the benefits of these and why I add them in previous posts. Also Flax Seed & Chis Seeds sometimes, I use frozen fruit instead of ice with my vanilla flavors.
Eggs! I love scrambled eggs and adding spinach, black beans and salsa adds additional protein and deliciousness. It’s an easy lunch or breakfast because in just 5 minutes you have a full plate of nutrients to fuel you for hours. Any veggies are great such as mushrooms, peppers, avocado…you name it or have it throw it in.
Salmon! This is one of my go to foods to order out because it’s a great healthy option. At home I cook it on a grill pan and add it to couscous or quinoa and steamed veggies.
What are some of your quick go to eats?
I was so excited to go to HC Nutrition and learn what it was all about. I started seeing their Grand Re-Opening event on Facebook and that really peaked my interest. I was able to meet with the Jennifer, owner, and she had so much information to share. I was so excited to hear she is a RN and really able to speak to the different medical aspects of the benefits she has to offer. I had no idea how much was available at HC Nutrition.
Cryotherapy is something I had been wanting to try since I saw in on the Real Housewives, yes you read that right, I am obsessed with reality TV. I have looked into it further and there are just so many benefits. I loved it and can’t wait to do it again. I could feel the benefits in my muscles the rest of the day and into the next. When I told people I did it their first statement was always I don’t like the cold, well this isn’t your normal cold feeling. It is really un-explainable and the time flies. The employees are there to talk to you and the 3 minutes seemed like nothing.

I want to share with you a fun fact about straws, did you know it takes 7 year for 1 straw to decompose, yes 7 years. Now just think for a second how many straws you, as one person, use on a weekly basis. Now multiply that by millions and millions!
As I have gotten older I have really grown more and more aware of recycling and eco friendly products. Every week I have a heaping pile of recycling and my trash keeps decreasing.
Now when I get a drink I love a straw, just something about it. These are a great addition to my kitchen supplies. They are stainless steel, dishwasher safe and come in multiple sizes. I got the larger ones so I can use them with my smoothies and they are perfect. No issues with clogged straws or holes in them. I use them for everything now. They also come with a cleaning brush to make sure you can get the entire thing clean. They come in packs of 5.
You can get yours on Amazon.com a the link below.
Visit their website https://www.ecoatheart.com/ for more straw sizes and information.
Think about your straw the next time you grab one and remember how small that is and what a difference one person can make. PS I keep one in my purse for restaurants and on the go drinks 🙂
