I am absolutely loving this AHAVA Hydration Cream Mask. It is perfect for dry winter days and after a deep exfoliating scrub. The thick cream goes on smooth and soothes your face while it soaks deep into your skin. I cannot describe how calming and cooling it feels.
I slather it on my face and neck twice a week after my exfoliating scrub to make sure I am putting that moisture back into my skin. Especially because exposing the new skin after exfoliating means you need to treat it well. Give back to your face and neck (also back of the hands) These are the places your age shows!
The best parts about the brand….they are eco friendly and very nature conscious about what is going into their product. They strive to impact the environment as little as possible and use a water return process at their manufacturing facility. Plus….
- You will never find parabens in AHAVA formulas.
- All products are vegan, just like AHAVA products have always been.
- AHAVA products endure strict allergy testing and are approved for sensitive skin.
- Our natural ingredients are sourced from nature, never from GMOs.
- AHAVA formulates products without the questionable compounds sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), Phthalates and Triclosan.
I have now used two of their products and completely love them both. The Hydration Cream Mask and the Water Mineral Hand Cream. Both really made a difference in my skin, don’t forget skin care is more than just your face! Check them out, I know you will fall in love too.
(Not an add, I don’t get paid or get anything from AHAVA. I just share what I love)
I love to hike and explore the parks and trails near us. We have been wanting to try some since we moved and finally found the time over the weekend. We took the dogs and went to Bonnie Wenk Nature Trail. It was close by and had great rating/reviews.
It is still under some construction but the main path is open as well as the restrooms, playground and dog park. The trail is great because it is wide, paved and clean. This allows plenty of room for people to pass by without disturbing each other. The full trail is 4.5 miles but it is not a loop. We did about 2 miles total with the dogs. When I walk on my own I go much faster and farther but the dogs are little slow and their short legs get tired. They need their exercise too so it was a great time to all be together outdoors and get some exercise.
There is great scenery and large open spaces. The dog park looked well maintained but very busy when we were there. All the facilities were new and still well kept, the playground looked like great fun. (Even for me)
I would definitely recommend this area for families, runners, bikers and walkers/joggers. The path is great for strollers, wheelchairs, young children, dogs and beginners. We will go back for sure.
Recently a friend introduced me to some new skin care products, make up and hair care. I have really enjoyed the products I have tried so of course I am going to share. 🙂
I try to be knowledgeable about what goes into the products I put in and on my body. It can be very difficult to get a lot of information about beauty products or personal care products because they are not monitored or required to leave out harmful chemicals. Recently there has been a large surge in people bringing awareness to this issue, including my girl Kourtney Kardashian. (As you know I love my reality TV)
I would really love to be able to go to the store and know that the products on the shelf are safe. We just aren’t there yet. Other countries are far ahead of us in this area.
Anyway! BeautyCounter, these products never use 15000+ ingredients that are harmful (including the 14000 banned from being used in European countries). 80% are naturally sourced or plan derived. The most important part to me is the transparency! They share everything that they are using, no guessing games. They also keep up on all the research being done to continue to grow and develop only the best safe products for your use.
I have been using one of their holiday bundles (which was a great deal) it includes the cleansing balm, balancing facial mask, moisturizer and brightening oil. I have loved each one. The cleansing balm is different than any cleanser I have used, it is thick and tacky but after using for about 2 weeks now it really works great. My skin feels soft and clean with a brightness. TIP: use a washcloth to rinse off to ensure you remove all the balm. After cleansing I use the mask twice a week, as it dries you can really see it getting into all of your pores and tightening your skin. I love to really get in deep to my pores so this is great for that.
The brightening oil I use twice a week as well and it just gives my skin a little kick and adds to the softness. Especially during the winter this is great to counter act the dry air. The Adaptive Moisture Lotion is by far my favorite! The texture rubs on so smooth and a little goes a long way making it last. The smell in AMAZING and the way it balances out my skin all day long really makes it look and feel great.
Take a look at the link below for so many more products and what options are out there for you to get safer personal care products you don’t have to worry about! Tina Herbert has introduced me to these and is a great source of information. Don’t hesitate to ask her questions.
The Pub McKinney was the first restaurant/bar we ventured out to visit. It is located in Historic Downtown McKinney. The venue offers a great atmosphere, plenty of seating, pool tables & games, full bar (specializing in Whiskey), craft beer and good food. There was a great outdoor seating area, it was cold the night we were there but we both commented it was a great space. I can’t wait to go back in some nicer weather.
We visited for an evening out for drinks and appetizers. The service was great, drinks good and the food was yummy. It was a great first stop in the area to see a new place and explore. This will definitely be one of the stops we take visitors and head to for a date night. Are you ready to go with us?
One of my favorite things to do is walk through different parks or areas of town to explore. Not only is this a great way to stay active but I get to see new places. Veterans Plaza is located in the heart of Boerne off Main Street and is a beautiful place to take some time and appreciate what is around you but also the sacrifice many men and women have made for the lives we have today.
As you walk up the main entrance you will see the names of so many local people who have served in all branches of service. If you are from here I am sure you can find a name you recognize or are related to. As you come up to the center you will read some beautiful stories of brilliance, heart, strength and selflessness.
I grabbed some lunch and sat on a bench in the shade and enjoyed some me time. There is plenty of room for pets and family to enjoy some time outside together or even a great outdoor workout. Many of you have driven by and never stopped. I really recommend taking a moment to walk to the center and read the stories of some amazing people from right here in our community.
Saturday we headed north to check out Sister Creek Vineyards. I have heard great things so we wanted to see what it was all about. It was a quick drive from our house full of beautiful hill country scenery.
We started with the self guided tour that shows the different equipment they use and many of the barrels the wine is aging in. After the self guided tour of the 5 rooms we sat down for the tasting. We did the 8 glasses allowing us to try all the wine, or can can do a 4 glass tasting as well. (The 8 is $12.95 and the 4 is $9.95.) We enjoyed many of the wines but are fans of the whites over red. Our favorite was the Muscat Reserve and we left with 2 bottles for our house, come over and have a glass with us. :)The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable, we had a great time with our tasting specialist and he was full of fun knowledge.
They have a wine club you can join as well with no strings attached. Those are the kinds of clubs we like for sure.
We had a great time and defiantly recommend a trip out for yourself to check them out and try the wines.
