I love trying new facial products and working on my skin health. I saw so many different people trying these, what I call, pore vacuums. I had to try but I didn’t want to spend a fortune.
I got the Derma Suction! It comes with 4 different attachments and two suctions speeds. The attachments allow you to get into all the groves of your face. Having two speeds or levels of suction gives you control over sensitive areas of your face.
I use this once a week, usually on Sundays. I cleanse my face and then use the Derma Suction. Keep the tool moving, do not let it sit in one spot on your face. I move in the same direction all over my face then go over it again the opposite direction. Once you are finished MOISTURIZE. I can’t say that enough! You just sucked not only the dirt and grime but the moisture out of your skin so you need to put it back. I usually use a moisture mask or a thick moisturizer cream.
You also want to clean out your took after each use, believe me you will be amazed and grossed out! There is also a small filter that will need to be changed periodically.
I have noticed a huge difference in my face and pores. My make up goes on smoother and my skin feels better. I don’t feel like I have little bumps everywhere or that my pores are full of gunk.
You can get yours at Bed Bath & Beyond (where I got mine it was $19.99), CVS, Walgreens and Wal Mart. These are just the places I have seen them. It’s not an expensive took and you will get great results!
The other weekend I stumbled upon the prettiest little park in McKinney, TX. The park is 7.2 acres and located at 6452 Collin McKinney Pkwy. There is a small parking lot and a gorgeous entry sign to the paved trails that take you through many different varieties of Crape Myrtles.
It isn’t exactly peek season for the blooms but even with that it was beautiful. There are great signs that explain what you are looking at and more about the plants/trees. There are picnic tables and benches for families and people to take a seat and enjoy the view.
To me this is a hidden gem of McKinney that everyone needs to see, not to mention the photo opportunities that are available here! Enjoy some time just enjoying nature and learning more about these wonderful trees.
There is also a Crape Myrtle Trails Foundations that has partnered with the City of McKinney to plant thousands of Crape Myrtles in the median and more. I get to enjoy these year round because I live just off Eldorado Parkway and that is where a majority are planted.
July 1 I started a 28 day #barre3anywhere challenge put on by Barre3. This is a nation wide Barre studio that offers online classes as well so you can do them anywhere even if a location isn’t convenient for you. This 28 day challenge involved 6 videos a week and one rest day. The videos ranged in length from 10 minutes to 30 minutes but don’t let that 10 minute number fool you, some of those were the hardest and left me really feeling the shake.
You can really do them anywhere. I did most of the videos on my lunch break in our living room. It was a great break from the computer and re-energized me for the rest of the day.
There are so many variations that no matter what your level or injury status is so you can do these workouts. I did have to do variations since I am pregnant and as the bump grew through the month some of the positions did get a little tricky. It was great to really work on my lower back and leg strength. You can add weights for added strength training for your arms as well.
Check out their website to see if there is a location near you and if not you can sign up for a free online trial and you can do these workouts anywhere. There is no excuse to not give it a try and see the transformation you can make in a short period of time.
I have always heard about women talking about morning sickness and one day I dreamed it would happen to me. Well it did, and boy was/is it not at all what I expected. It happens so suddenly, anytime and for me was really intense and almost violent.
I was so happy about my morning sickness! After wanting this for so long I would lay on the bathroom floor just smiling and laughing. I know that seems odd but it made me feel like it was real, like this baby was really going to happen.
I tried several different things to help me through upon the advise of other mommy’s I know. These are what worked for me. Everyone is different and different things help. For me personally I was told so many times to eat saltine’s or something similar I wanted to scream, that just didn’t help me. I know it really helps a lot of women though!
Here is what I liked!
Preggie Pop Drops. These I got at Target and loved that they were drug free and natural. So easy, just like a cough drop or hard candy. I would keep a handful on my night stand and pop them in throughout the night too.
Sparkling Mama Fizzelixir. This was a yummy drink that allowed me to have the carbonation but without all the sugar. The ginger and citrus combo calmed my stomach and allowed me to get a little relief through the work day.
Morning Ease Lemon Ginger. These are very similar to the Preggie Pop Drops but available at several retailers. Another lemon ginger combo that worked out great for me. Kept these in my purse and could just grab one anytime I was out and about and I just didn’t feel right.
Sea Bands. I was most skeptical about trying these. I wore them for a while and didn’t really know if they were helping so I took them off and suddenly got a rush of morning sickness. I was like omg they work and put them back on as fast as I could. These are easy to use and a great suggestion if you don’t want to drink or eat something.
These are the 4 products that I really liked and that worked for me. Again everyone is different but I recommend giving these a try. I am still using them all throughout my pregnancy on rough days.
Summer is here and so is my new FabFitFun Box! It’s so fun to open the box never knowing what fun new products are inside. I am going to share my favorite products form the box.
Generation Clay Brightening Purple Clay Mask. This mask is filled with Davidson plum, a gentle, natural version of skin-exfoliating alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Making it a great option to rejuvenate your skin and dull those dark circles under your eyes. Additional benefits include witch hazel to extract excess oil, vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects against free radicals, and desert lime, an Australian citrus fruit that boosts hydration, assists with the absorption of antioxidants and increases collagen production. I could see a difference after one use and absolutely recommend giving it a try.
I have talked about the Coola brand before. This is a great product to use after putting on your make up for the day. It sets the makeup and has SPF in the spray. It is refreshing and really helped my make up stay on all day.
You guys, these SOL Janeiro products are amazing! The smell alone is unmatched, even my husband has commented. The shower gel lathers great and leaves no residue on your skin. The Bum Cream is great for tightening skin, smoothing bumps and moisturizing after a great shower scrub. Being pregnant I love to also slather this body cream on my growing bump to help with stretch marks. On their website you get 10% off your first order so don’t hesitate!
The Grace & Stella All Day Rose spray is so refreshing and hydrating. In this Texas heat a spray to start off the day is perfect. I use it on my face, neck and chest to refresh and hydrate my skin in the morning or after washing my face. It’s gentle the subtle rose scent is calming.
Invisi Bobble hair rings are so versatile and comfortable. They allow me, someone with long hair, to pull my hair up without leaving a “dent” or line in my hair that has to be re styled. They also do not pull at all so the comfort is great to last all day or through that tough workout.
I could go on about all of the products but these are the stand outs to me. I love being introduced to new products and see how they work. Try these and let me know what you think.
I chose to register for our little one with Baby List. I did this because I don’t like what one or two stores have to offer and Baby List allows me to register for anything anywhere. It is so easy, there is a button at the top of my browser and I simply click “add to babylist” and boom done.
When viewing the list it’s just like any other registry with all the items organized by type BUT it also shows the different stores and prices you can purchase the item, including amazon and websites.
I have been searching different items online and when I find the one I want I simply add it to the list. When I started my registry I got a free Hello Baby Box from Baby List that had many sample products in it for me to try. I really like this feature because as a first time mom it opens my eyes to different brands and products I may not be aware of. It also allows me to try things before committing. The box also comes with cards you can put in a shower invitation and you can get more for free on the list as well.
Give it a try and let me know what you think.
The Noobie Box is a free, yes free, pregnancy box that provides samples of products that are great for mom’s to be. The box does change over time and currently below is what I got in mine.
- Aquaphor Baby Ointment
- Bioderma Atoderm Intensive Baume
- Chicco Pacifist
- Cuties set of 5 diapers
- Lansinoh breastfeeding set (nursing pads, milk storage bags and lanolin),
- UpSpring Milkflow Powder drink mix
- Prevail set of 2 liners
- WaterWipes baby wipes.
They also offer Baby Gift Boxes & Parent Gift Boxes. Each box is catered to the age of the baby/child which offers activities and products that are great for the growing little one. You can get a subscription or purchase a single box.
BUT don’t miss out on getting the FREE pregnancy box. See the link below, just pay shipping.
I recommend getting yours because why not? It is a great way to find out about products and try them out before committing to a full case or something you will not use. As a first time mom is it so nice to find out different brands and products because I have no clue to where to start on most things.
