Since moving to McKinney my morning routine has changed in many ways. I no longer have to commute into an office for work, I work remote in my home office, so it has allowed for some changes.
I cannot get up without 8 legs running in front of me down the stairs so that is actually the first thing I do, let the dogs out and feed them, after all they are more important than anyone else in the house. Once I feed them I make my one cup of coffee for the day, ugh only one cup I know but I am trying to cut back my caffeine intake. I get asked a lot too but I drink my coffee black or with a splash of almond milk. (Most of the sugar and unnecessary calories are in the creamer/sugar so cut it out)
After my cup of coffee I go back upstairs and brush my teeth to try my best to keep that coffee color off my teeth. I also wash my face and put on my collagen cream & vitamin c oil. Then it’s back to the kitchen for an 8oz glass of green juice and vitamins. I do not have a juicer so I get pre made juices, I have tried many different brands and I just make sure that the ingredients are all fruits & vegetables, no concentrates or fake stuff. As I am drinking my green juice I am working in my office and getting a plan set out for the day with my to do list.
I normally have a smoothie, cereal, yogurt or bar for breakfast. My breakfast is usually a smaller mean because the juice really does fill me up for awhile. After the juice it’s water water water for the rest of the day.
This is my morning routine and I love it. I love it because my body knows what to expect and keeping a routine has really changed my skin, hair, nails and digestion. It keeps everything smooth and regular, my skin has never looked better. A routine is not only great for physical health but also mental health. It keeps me moving and my body going.
I asked other people what the 3 must dos are for them every morning and I loved the responses here were some of them
- Wash face
- Check the weather
- Drink water
- Watch the news
- Drink a shake
- Feed pets
Its kinda of fun to see that so many people have similar routines or needs in the morning. It also makes me see even more how our bodies all need similar things nutrition and love being important in the morning. Share with us what your morning routing is.
I am so excited to share about the Just Strong clothing brand. I have been trying out their gear and I truly love the pieces. The fabric is breathable, supportive and durable. The designs are motivating and great looking on the clothes. They are about empowering women and pushing though not only your strength battles but every battles in life and just supporting each other and moving forward.
The symbol – the squat.
“The squat is the perfect analogy for life – it’s about standing back up after something heavy gets you down and what better way to present this analogy by using it in our branding. We are here to empower and motivate strong women from every walk of life.”
They have some fun tanks and t’s with great sayings and quotes such as “Will Gym For Pizza” so true and fun. They have different cuts and styles of leggings and sports bras for the many different body types. I truly recommend you give them a try.

We have continued to explore the parks and trails near us and we recently visited Erwin Park a couple times. It is very natural and offers lots of trains and picnic areas with plenty of parking. We tried out several different trails and really enjoyed them all. I will say they are not really marked so be careful when you start some of them they don’t loop around and go for a couple miles.
This hills offer a great workout and beautiful views.
I use the Endomondo App so luckily I can see on a map where we went and are able to decide what we want to do. I recommend using something like this on trails you don’t know.
I was also able to try out some new workout gear from Just Strong. I really liked the fabric and the quality while hiking. I didn’t have to pull up or readjust my leggings or sports bra (which can be very annoying while trying to be active) I would recommend giving them a try and use the code WYNNSPARKS10 for a discount at checkout. http://www.juststrong.com
I love the writing and the look. Give them a try!
As you have seen on Instagram recently I have started taking Olly vitamins and now adding their protein powder and bars. I am loving the products and feel the benefits. I started with the vitamins. We were at Target getting who knows what and saw all the different vitamin options. We compared many different brands and decided to try Olly. After 30 days I could really see a difference in my energy levels. I did some research on the company and decided to try the protein powder, it is plant based and has been delightful. The bars are truly filling and the taste and texture are great. Texture can be really difficult with some of the protein bars or snack bars I have tried in the past.
Olly is B Corp Certified – “Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. B Corps are accelerating a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.” I mean why wouldn’t you want to do business with a company like this! Not only are they B Corp Certified they are also a member of the Council For Responsible Nutrition.
I cannot tell you enough how impressed I was with this company and every product I have tried has not disappointed. I truly recommend them for anyone looking for a great vitamin or healthy product. They even have vitamins specialized for kids. Visit their website to learn more and see more products. Their products are also sold at Target!
I love my teeth and I want bright whites, just like all of you. Charcoal is all the rage right now in health products and provides great benefits in some uses.
The charcoal tooth paste/tooth whitening trend is everywhere so you know I had to try it. I used it a couple of times and started to wonder how it was really working. So I reached out to a Dentist I know and he gave me the 411. DO NOT USE IT! He explained that the charcoal is abrasive and is actually removing/scratching the surface of your tooth, that is why you get the quick whitening results but you are actually damaging your teeth. No thank you! I do not want thin weak teeth, I like to eat too much.
Yes it whitens and is natural but that doesn’t mean it is good for you. Think twice about products like these. Stick to going to the dentist for whitening from the inside of your teeth out.
I took a poll on Instagram recently wondering how many people went to more than one grocery store for their shopping needs. I was surprised at the response but it appears that 60% do! The other 40% thought it was too much work.
I recently have been going to two different stores because it has been saving a lot of money on our shopping. I will most likely be upping it to three because getting all the cleaning supplies and such I have found another place to go for even less. It does take more time but all the stores are fairly close and the savings is significant enough to make it worth it to me. Some areas or small towns this may be more difficult.
The way I break down our shopping:
- Produce & Meat
- Snacks, Boxed items, non perishable items
- Cleaning Supplies/Personal Care Items
In the past I have used a lot of coupons but that didn’t really make a difference, I now only use coupons on the food items we buy. Trying new brands or products never worked out for us, but it may for you. Using the stores rewards cards and apps actually seem to save us more money. The apps give you coupons you may not otherwise find and special discounts in the specific store.
We tend to go grocery shopping twice a month and cook a lot at home. Especially with me working from home now our shopping needs have slightly changed so going once a month just isn’t enough with perishable foods and produce.
Do you go to more than one store? What are your grocery shopping tips?
